Privacy Policy

Nuz (nuz.pet) is run by Pawl Inc. (“Pawl,” “we,” “us”). This page explains what Nuz collects, why, and what you can do about it. Questions? Write to info.shop@nuz.pet.

The short version

Most of what you do in Nuz stays in your browser, on this device.

Some results are saved to our database so rankings and your progress work. Pet Life Audit rankings show your pet’s name publicly.

We use analytics to see which parts people use and where they get stuck.

If you give us your email, we use it to sign you in and send what you asked for. We don’t sell it.

Nuz is not a vet service. We don’t ask for medical records.

1. What we collect

What you type or pick. Your pet’s name, dog or cat, and age range; your answers in quizzes, audits and questionnaires; game scores; optional feedback (a paw rating and a comment); and, if you choose, your first name and age range.

Your email, if you give it. When you ask for a sign-in link or ask us to email your pet’s sheet.

How you use Nuz. Pages you open, which modules and games you start and finish, the choices you tap, how far you got, which link or ad brought you (campaign tags in the link), and basic device info such as browser, device type, screen size and language. We may also record session replays of how you move through a page, with text you type masked.

Technical data. Like any website, your IP address and browser details reach our hosting and analytics providers. Analytics may use your IP address to estimate a rough location (country, region, city).

We don’t ask for your full name, address, phone number, payment details, or your pet’s medical records. Please don’t type them into free-text boxes.

3. Why we use it

To run Nuz: show your results, remember your progress, unlock categories, and run the rankings.

To make Nuz better: see which modules work, where people drop off, fix bugs and test changes.

To reach you, only if you gave us your email: sign-in links, the sheet you asked for, and occasional Nuz updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

To keep Nuz safe: spot bots, spam and abuse.

To learn about pets and their people: we may use de-identified, combined data (for example, “most cat owners miss this question”) for research, including for Pawl’s products. Combined data doesn’t identify you.

4. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with providers that run Nuz for us:

Vercel hosts the website.

Supabase runs our database and sign-in, and sends sign-in emails.

PostHog runs our analytics and session replays.

Google Fonts delivers Nuz’s fonts, so your browser asks Google for them.

They handle data for us, mostly in the United States, under their own security and privacy terms. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or if Pawl is merged or sold (this policy would still apply to your information).

Ads and measurement. Paid ads may use campaign tags in the link (UTMs) so we can see which ad brought you. When ads are running, Nuz may also load measurement pixels or tags from Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, and/or Google. Those providers can receive that you visited Nuz (and sometimes a conversion event such as submitting an email), plus standard device/browser data, under their own terms. We use this to measure and improve ads — not to sell your information. You can limit some ad tracking in your device or browser settings, and via each platform’s ad preferences.

5. Cookies and local storage

Nuz saves your pets and progress in your browser’s local storage. Our analytics uses a cookie and local storage to recognize a returning browser by a random ID. We don’t use advertising cookies. You can clear all of this for nuz.pet in your browser settings at any time. That also erases your progress on this device.

6. How long we keep it

Local storage stays until you clear it. Results and account details stay while Nuz runs, or until you ask us to delete them. We keep analytics data only as long as it helps us improve Nuz, then delete it or keep it in combined form.

7. Your choices and rights

See, fix or delete your data: email info.shop@nuz.pet from the address you signed in with. To remove a ranking entry, tell us your pet’s name and roughly when you did the audit. We reply within 30 days.

Clear this device: clear site data for nuz.pet in your browser.

Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link, or email us.

Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the EU or the UK), you may have more rights, such as getting a copy of your data or objecting to how we use it. We honor these requests wherever you live, and we won’t treat you differently for using them.

8. Children

Nuz is made for pet owners, not for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us their email, write to info.shop@nuz.pet and we’ll delete it.

9. Security

Nuz uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), database rules so visitors can only read what’s meant to be public, and limited access for our team. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.

10. Where your data is processed

Pawl is based in the United States, and our providers mostly process data there. If you use Nuz from outside the US, your information is transferred to the US.

11. Changes

We’ll update this page when Nuz changes what it collects, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant and we have your email, we’ll let you know.
